On May 21, 2026, a chemical leak was detected at GKN Aerospace in Garden Grove, CA. Officials state there are only two options. The tank either fails or explodes. Thousands have already been evacuated from the area, which has been expanded, leading to the ongoing and imminent threat of hazardous chemical exposure to residents.
The chemical present, Methyl Methacrylate (or “MMA”) is a highly toxic substance that can impact the respiratory system, cause skin irritation and eye irritation.
